In the run up to the event David Rosser, the CBI's Director in Wales, said:
“CBI Wales welcomes the ETB’s ‘Engineers Make it Happen’ campaign. With a large
proportion of Welsh GDP coming from manufacturing and engineering, Wales requires
more technicians and engineers to remain competitive in the global economy. In order to
build on the success of our many manufacturing and engineering enterprises young
people need to be made aware of the excellent career opportunities that engineering can
offer.”
